HS/HCS/HBs 981 & 665 - LIABILITY FOR REPORTING ACTS OF SCHOOL VIOLENCE - This act clarifies that public school teachers and other authorized school personnel shall not be civilly liable for reporting acts of school violence and threatened acts of school violence when this reporting is mandated by law, done within the course and scope of school duties and done in conformity with the district's written policy on discipline.

WORKER'S COMPENSATION FOR STATE EMPLOYEES - The act subjects the State of Missouri to liability for discharge or discrimination resulting from a state employee's exercise of rights under workers' compensation law and waives sovereign immunity for civil actions seeking damages for such discharge or discrimination.

FAMILY AND MEDICAL LEAVE ACT AND STATE EMPLOYEES - The act subjects the State of Missouri to the requirements of the federal Family and Medical Leave Act with regard to state employees and waives sovereign immunity for civil actions seeking enforcement of such act. State liability in such actions is subject to the existing limits in Chapter 537, RSMo.
